Sukanya Samridhi Yojna
It is Small-deposit account launched by Prime Minister. It is a subpart of Beti Bachao campaign. Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana is a small savings sccount which can be opened by the parents or a legal guardian of a girl child in any post office / authorised branches of some of the commercial banks like State Bank of India (SBI), Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank and so on.
Validity of Sukanya Samridhi Account:
Any legal guardian or parent can opened this account who girl child is 10 years below and operate till she reaches 21 age. In case you have two daughters, you have the right to access two accounts but the total amount invested cannot exceed Rs 1, 50,000 per annum.
What Will Be The Rate Of Interest Charged??
Sukanya Samridhi Yojna Interest Rate should be at 9.1 per cent, which is higher than that of PPF at 8.7 per cent. This rate of 9.1 per cent is not fixed and every financial year it should be revised like all other small savings schemes, including PPF. No income tax will charged for this.
Know the Duration of the Sukanya Samridhi Scheme:
This account matures on completion of 21 years from the commencing of the account. This amount can be used before the maturity date i.e. before the completion of 21 years in case your daughter’s marriage takes place.
Way to Deposit in this Account:
For initial account opening the minimum amount should be deposited that is Rs.1000.Later, You can deposit any amount in multiple of 100 can be deposited but maximum Rs. 1.5 lakh per year.
