CSIR UGC NET
Every year, Council of Scientific & Industrial Research conducts National Eligibility Test twice a year that is in the month of June and December. NET Entrance test was conducted in the June month and now it’s time to schedule in December. To participate in this national level entrance examination, candidates have to satisfy as well as follow some norms that are well furnished below. As NET is the entry ticket for the Indian nationals who want to pursue their career in the field of Science which further consist of Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Earth Atmospheric Ocean and Planetary Sciences.
CSIR UGC NET Eligibility Criteria:
- To apply against this entrance exam, applicants should hold BS program /BE/B. Tech/B. Pharma/Integrated BS-MS/ MBBS/ B.Sc (Hons)/M.Sc. / Integrated MS-PhD program /B.Sc (Hons) with at least 55% marks are eligible to apply (50% for SC/ST candidates, physically and Visually handicapped candidates).
- Applicants registered for M.Sc. or have just completed 10+2+3 years of any of the above qualifying examinations can also apply.
- Entrants must have completed Bachelor’s degree, in Science, Engineering or equivalent discipline and can apply for Ph.D./Integrated Ph.D. program within the given validity of 2 years for the benefits of CSIR fellowship candidates.

Age Limit & Relaxation:
Candidates who are willing to grab JRF (NET) exam should be not more than 28 years as on 01-07-2017 and relaxation in upper age will be provided by 5 years in case of SC/ST/Persons with Disability (PwD)/female applicants and 03 years in case of OBC (non creamy layer) applicants and there is no age limit for LS (NET) exam appliers.
CSIR UGC NET Application fees:
After verifying the eligibility status, candidates have to deposit the examination fees any branch of the Indian Bank throughout the country by paying the following fee in cash through bank challan OR RTGS/NEFT through any bank (Bank account details are required to be filled in the Indian Bank challan form to be downloaded from online application system):

The single paper MCQ based test will consist of following subjects that are given in below table:

Syllabus Of The Test
As per the CSIR UGC NET Syllabus, exam will be divided into three parts that are (A, B & C) as given below.
Part ‘A’: this consists of common subjects as questions asked in this part will be of General Aptitude with emphasis on below stated subjects:
- Logical Reasoning
- Graphical Analysis
- Numerical Ability
- Quantitative Comparison
- Series Formation
- Puzzles Etc.
Part ‘B’: The second part consist of subject-related conventional Multiple Choice questions (MCQs), generally covering the topics given in the syllabus.
Part ‘C’: The third and the last part contribute higher value questions, through which they test the aspirant’s knowledge of scientific concepts and/or application of the scientific concepts. Candidates must remember that questions asked in this part will be of analytical nature
