JEE Main Cut Off –

  • In the previous year the JEE Main cut off was 100 for General, 70 for OBC, 52 for SC, and 48 for ST.
  • This year the JEE Main 2018 Cut off will be announced along with results.
  • Last year the score was announced at around 5 PM and rank was published on a separate date at 7 PM. This year the result can be declared at any time today.
  • Criterion for calculating the JEE Mails Score: total marks for correct answer – total marks for incorrect answer.
  • Candidates who want to know the criterion to calculate their rank then they are to be informed that the higher the score, the higher the rank of the candidate will be.

JEE Mains 2018 Tie Breaking Method – 

If two or more than two candidates scores same marks then the tie breaker will be as:

Paper 1

  • Candidate who has scored higher marks in maths will be preferred.
  • If the maths marks are not same then marks in Physics will be preferred.
  • Or to break the tie, the ratio of correct and incorrect answers will be considered.
  • Highly uneventful but still if the tie doesn’t break then same rank will be allotted to both

Tie Breaking for Paper 2

  • Candidate who has scored higher marks in Aptitude Test will be preferred.
  • If the Aptitude Test marks are not same then marks in Drawing Test will be preferred.
  • Or to break the tie, the ratio of positive and negative marks will be considered.
  • Highly uneventful but still if the tie doesn’t break then same rank will be allotted to both
