Minority Scholarship 2018-19

There are the various Scholarship for minority offered by the Ministry of Minority Affairs with aim to develop socio-economic condition of all the minority communities all over the India.

Muslims (Muslim minority scholarship), Sikhs (Sikh minority scholarship), Christians, Buddhists, and Zoroastrians (Parsis) have been notified as minority communities by National Commission for Minorities. Government offers financial support to the candidates who can’t afford the expenses of higher studies at college/ university level.

Scholarship for minority students

Pre Matric Minority Scholarship 2018-19:

Pre Matric Scholarship for minority will be awarded for studies of the minority community students in a government or private school from class I to class X in India.

This scheme cover-

  • Course/Tuition Fee these are directly credited to the bank account of the school.
  • 10 months maintenance allowance is also provided to students.
  • Renewal is subjected to a minimum score of 50% in the previous examination.

Post Matric Minority Scholarship:

Post Matric Scholarship will be awarded for studies in a government or private school after class X for classes XI and XII, under-graduate, post graduate studies in India.

This Scheme cover-

  • Course/Tuition Fee these are directly credited to the bank account of the school.
  • 10 months maintenance allowance is also provided to students.
  • Renewal is not subjected to any terms and conditions

Eligibility Norms for Minority welfare scholarship:

  • For Pre Matric Minority Scholarship: Students, who want to take advantage of this scheme, must have secured at least 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination. The annual income of student’s parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs.1 lakhs.
  • For Post Matric Minority Scholarship: Students, who have secured at least 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination. The annual income of student’s parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs.2 lakhs.
  • 30% of scholarship will be earmarked for girl students.
  • In case sufficient number of eligible girl students is not available, then the balance earmarked scholarships may be awarded to eligible boy students.

Duration of scholarship for minority:

The scholarship will be provided for the entire course. However, maintenance allowance will be given for a period not exceeding 10 months only in an academic year.

Selection Procedure of scholarship for minority students:

Students will be selected for the scheme on the basis of completion prescribed eligibility. Preference will be given to the students from BPL families having the lowest income in the ascending order. The renewal applications would be fully exhausted before the new applications are considered.

Procedure to fill minority scholarship form 2018:

  • To fill the application form candidates need to visit official web portal i.e. www.minorityaffairs.gov.in
  • Thereafter on the home page hit the “scheme” link available at the menu bar of the home page.
  • Further you need to apply on the appropriate link to fill minority scholarship application form.

Procedure to apply-

  • Read this notification carefully.
  • Must ensure to check eligibility norms
  • Registration: First of all candidates need to register themselves.
  • There after you need Minority scholarship application form download from there.
  • Fill Minority scholarship form: Now candidates need to fill the minority scholarship 2018-19 application form correctly in prescribe format.
  • Upload Photograph and Signature: Aspirants are require to upload scanned copies of photograph, signature and other essential documents.

Documents require:

  • Candidate’s Self declaration form for minority scholarship or Minority community certificates
  • Candidate’s Self-Declaration of Annual income of family members
  • Candidate’s Scanned copies of identity proof
  • Scanned Copies of Cancelled Cheque of Bank Account of the student
  • Scanned Copy of an Affidavit on Non-Judicial Paper of Rs.5 duly notarized
  • Scanned copy of the Admit card of the particular examination
  • Scanned copies of the Roll number slip with a copy of result page .
  • Re-check the application form and submit: After completing the above procedure candidates need to submit the national minority scholarship from and take a print out of the same for further use.

      Scholarship Facility is provided to poor people who doesn’t help their children’s financially in studies. According to this criteria, selection is done.
      Scholarship Exams are also conducted. As per marks criteria, selection is also done.
