Answer: Rajib and Rajesh can do piece of work 4 day’s, then

First we find required 1 day time and work,

(Rajib + Rajesh) can do piece of work in 1 day’s = 1 / 4, Rajib 1 day’s work = 1 / 12.

Same work Rajesh can do in 1 day’s = (1 / 4 – 1 / 12) = 1 / 6.

So, Rajesh can alone complete the work in 6 days.

Question 2. P completes a work in 12 days and Q completes the same work in 16 days. Find required time to complete the same work together.

Answer: Complete work in 1 day of P is 1 / 12

Complete work in 1 day of Q is 1 / 16

Together complete work P + Q in 1 day 1 / 12 + 1 / 16 = 7 / 48

Together complete work 48 / 7 days

Question 3. A, B and C together can finish a work in 50 minutes, A and B together finish the same work in 60 minutes. In how many minutes can C alone finish that work?

Answer: (1 / 50 – 1 / 60) = 300 minutes.

Question 4. A can do a piece of work in 12 days and B can do a piece of work in 4 days. Find how many days they are working together to complete that work?

Answer: A 1 day work = 1 / 12

B 1 day work = 1 / 4

(1 / 12 + 1 / 4) = 4 / 12 = 1 / 3

Question 5.  Anil, priyanka and Suresh together can complete a work in 20 minutes If Anil and priyanka together same work complete in 60 minutes, How many time required Suresh alone can complete that work?

Answer: 1 / 20 – 1 / 60 = 30 minutes

Question 6. A, B and C can complete a work together in 60 minutes. A and B can complete the similar work in 80 minutes. How much minutes can C take alone to complete that work?

Answer: C alone take = 1 / 60 – 1 / 80 = 240 minutes

Question 7. 22 boys complete a piece of work in 32 days. In how many days will 16 boy can complete that work?

Question 8. 25 Women can complete a work in 15 days. How many more Women need for complete this work in 5 days?

Answer: 25 Women can complete a work in 15 days, Women1 x working days1 = Women2 x working days2

25 x 15 = Women2 x 5

Women2 = 375 / 5 = 75

More women need for complete this work (75 – 25 ) = 50.

Question 9. Aman and Raman can do a piece of work in 20 days and 12 days respectively. Aman started the work alone and then after 4 days Raman joined him till the completion of the work. How long did the work last?

Answer: Step 1: In 4 days Aman work done = 1 x 4 / 20 = 1 / 5. Remaining work is = (1 – 1 / 5) = 4 / 5.

Step 2: Now Aman and Raman work done by 1 day = (1 / 20 + 1 / 12) = 2 / 15.

Step 3: 4 / 5 work will be done by Aman and Raman = (15 / 2 x 4 / 5) = 6 days.

So, the total time taken = (6 + 4) = 10 days.

Question 10. 8 boys can complete a piece of work in 40 hours. In how many hours will 20 boys complete that same piece of work?
