Intramural Research
In today’s era, intramural research is conducted through 32 research institutes / centers as well as units of the Council. It includes the following research are: –
- The specific areas which are called as national institutions situated in different parts of the country was dedicated to research on diarrhea disease, viral diseases. The areas as follows such as AIDS, malaria, kala-azar, vector control, nutrition, reproduction, immune hematology, cancer, tuberculosis, including medical statistics and leprosy, cholera.
- There are 6 Chemical Science Research Centers which is dedicated to regional health problems with the purpose to create research capabilities as well as to support research in various geographical areas of the country.

Along with research activities, Council also encouraged the development of human resources through biomedical research is:
