What is Ayushman Bharat Scheme?

Ayushman Bharat Scheme has been announced in Budget 2019. Scheme aims to get rid of the expensive medical bills burden especially for the lower and lower middle class families. Under this scheme, the facility of free health insurance upto Rs. 5 lakhs will be provided to 10 crore households of the country.

Ayushman Bharat Scheme covers treatment of all serious diseases. All expenditure before and after hospitalization, has been included for any person (especially women, children and the elderly). Under this scheme, treatment will be done in any government or private hospital.

It is being presented as the world’s largest healthcare scheme. People of 445 districts of 29 states / UTs and about 50 crore Indians will benefit from Ayushman Bharat Scheme will get the benefit of the scheme however,  Delhi, Kerala, Odisha, Punjab and Telangana are not implementing this scheme on their own.

Ayushman Bharat Scheme Free Treatments

Under Ayushman Bharat Mega Healthcare Scheme, near about 10 thousand hospitals and 13 hundred diseases are included for treatment.  Cancer surgery, heart bypass surgery, eye-tooth operation, CT scan, MRI is included for free of cost.

The government has also released helpline number for the convenience of the people. You can call 14555 and get any information, advice or suggestions related to the plan.

Ayushman Bharat Scheme Facilities In Hospitals

If you will be involved in scheme and willing get all facilities too, and then you need to contact the Ayushman Mitra or Ayushman Mitra Help Desk, from the hospital. There you need to show relevant documents like identity cards like Aadhaar card, voter identity card or ration card however, Aadhaar card is not mandatory you can also show other ID proofs. After that, you don’t need to pay single penny for treatment.
