With the intention to provide financial assistance to economically backward students to complete their higher education, the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Central Government has introduced the MOMA Scholarship. There are three categories of MOMA Scholarship 2022 that are: MCM, Pre & Post Matric Scheme. Through Pre matric Scholarship, candidates will be given financial assistance to complete their school education. Through the Post Matric Scholarship, scheme candidates will be given financial aid to complete their higher education. The MCM Scholarship is designed to help candidates pursuing professional/technical courses.

MOMA Scholarship

Ministry of Minority Affairs introduced several scholarship schemes to provide financial support to candidates who belong to minority communities such as Muslims, Christians, Sikhs Jains, Zoroastrians (Parsis) & Buddhists, and are from economically backward communities of society. Ministry of Minority Affairs gives chance to candidates to start their higher education without in financial problems. So, candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria must fill MOMA Scholarship form as soon as possible.

Types of MOMA Scholarship

There are 03 types of scholarships provided by the Ministry of Minority Affairs to the Minorities described as follows:

MOMA Pre Matric Scholarship:

This scheme aims to provide financial aid to minority students for their studies at the pre-matric level. Under this pre-matric scholarship scheme, the students of classes 1 to 10 are awarded a scholarship up to Rs. 600 per month. To earn this pre-matric minority scholarship, the annual income of your family must not exceed Rs. 1 Lakh and you must have secured at least 50% marks in the previous final examination.

Moma Post Matric Scholarship:

Post Matric Scholarship scheme is a Central Sector Scheme with 100% central funding. Under this scheme, they will provide financial help to the students from Class 11 who are studying in government or private schools up to the Ph.D. level. The scholarship amount is Rs. 10,000 per annum along with a maintenance amount of up to Rs. 1200 per month.

Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses CS:

The merit-cum-means  MOMA scheme is meant for minority students who wish to pursue professional or technical courses at the graduate or postgraduate level. The scholarship amount can be up to Rs. 20,000 per annum. No more than two members of the same family are entitled to the scholarship. The scholarship would be canceled if the student discontinues his/her studies.

MOMA Scholarship Amount

The beneficiaries of the MOMA Scholarship 2022 will receive financial assistance for the entire course in the form of admission, course/tuition fee, and maintenance allowance. The maintenance allowance will be provided for a period of 10 months in an academic year. The detailed Scholarship Rewards for each scheme are shown below.

MOMA Scholarships Eligibility Criteria

The detailed eligibility criteria for different MOMA Scholarship schemes are discussed as follows:

For Pre Matric Scholarship:

  • Only students of classes from 1 to 10 are eligible to apply.
  • The applicant should have obtained at least 50% marks in the previous qualifying examination.
  • The annual family income of the applicant must not exceed Rs. 1 lakh.

For Post Matric Scholarship:

  • Only students of classes 11 and 12 are eligible to apply for this Minority Scholarship scheme.
  • The applicant must take admission to any technical and vocational course.
  • Students pursuing Diploma (Polytechnic) courses are also eligible for this scheme.
  • He/She should have attained a minimum of 50% marks in the previous final exam.
  • The annual family income of the applicant must not exceed Rs. 2 lakhs from all sources.

For Professional and Technical Courses Scholarship:

  • The MOMA Scholarship scheme is meant for candidates pursuing professional or technical courses in a recognized university or institute.
  • The applicant should have scored at least 50% marks in the previous qualifying examination.
  • The annual family income of the applicant must not be more than Rs. 2.5 lakhs from all sources.

Procedure to fill MOMA Scholarship Form 2022

  • First of all, contenders need to visit the official website which is www.scholarships.gov.in.
  • After reaching the homepage select and hit on the appropriate scholarship scheme.
  • Hit on the Guidelines tab and read all the details given in the notification carefully and completely
  • Afterward hit the Apply tab to apply for the MOMA Scholarship 2022.
  • A new login page will open up.
  • For filling up the renewal form, enter your credentials and hit on login tab.

MOMA Scholarship Renewal

  • Visit the Official National Scholarship Portal – scholarships.gov.in.
  • Select the ‘New Registration’ option available on the homepage.
  • On the newly opened page, you need to hit the ‘Apply for Renewal’ option.
  • A login window will appear in front of you.
  • Enter your login credentials – application id and password. Hit the ‘Login’ tab.
  • The renewal application form will be opened on your screen.
  • Enter the details in the MOMA Scholarship Renewal Form.
  • At last, press the ‘Submit’ button.

MOMA Scholarships 2022 – Selection Process

  • The selection for MOMA Scholarship- Merit Cum Means Scholarship 2022 will be done on a merit basis.
  • Within the State-wise allocations, the application from students enrolled in the reputed institutions will be given preference.
  • After the scholarships are allowed the state/UT will issue the information of the selected students on the Moma Scholarship Portal.
