PM Narendra Modi Ji has launched full paise vasool scheme which is a proposal to connect the country’s under-served and unserved airports, tilted as ‘UDAN Yojana’ and motive behind this is to make air travel affordable for all Indian citizens’ whether they are from middle or higher class. Under Ude Desh ka Aam Nagarik Scheme, flights’ Airfare will be limited at Rs 2500 per seat per hour. In beneath section, we have mentioned entire details regarding UDAN Yojana. The Indian Government has launched a new scheme named is UDAN Yojana on 21st October 2016 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Participating Airlines:

  • Here, we have mentioned those airlines names which are participating in UDAN Scheme. The names of airlines are SpiceJet, Air Deccan, Air India subsidiary Alliance Air and regional airlines Turbo Megha Airways, and Air Odisha Aviation.
  • Some of the inactive airports selected are Shimla, Jagdalpur, Shillong, Gwalior, Bikaner, Agra, Rourkela, Kadapa, Vidyanagar, Jharsuguda, Burnpur, Kullu, Diu, Mysore, Salem, Utkela, and Hosur.
  • The regional airlines will connect these destinations with their nearest bigger airports such as Delhi, Chennai, Bhubaneswar, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Jaipur, among others.

Why was scheme launched?

UDAN is first globally scheme which motivate regional connectivity through a market-based mechanism. The main aim of UDAN Scheme is to offer air tickets at cheaper price. Through this, it seeks to make flying affordable by connecting unserved and under-served airports. PMO said in his tweet that “To make air travel accessible to citizens in regionally important areas, the ‘Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik’ RCS (regional connectivity scheme) was launched in October, 2016”. It is an Airfare for a 1-hour journey of approx 500 km on a fixed wing aircraft or for 30 minute journey on a helicopter would be capped at Rs. 2,500.

Final Words:

To take the benefits, passengers don’t need to perform any types of activity. For concerning this, there is no need for registration because it has executed for all Indian citizens.  From the month of January 2017, all citizens are able to enjoy the benefits (Cheap Fare) of this scheme.
