Today, the Staff Selection Commission has publicized a notice regarding SSC CGL Exam 2017. As we all know that SSC CGL 2017 Notification has been announced by the commission. This time there are many changes in SSC CGL Exam has been done from the examination to the introduction of new posts. But the biggest change has been made by the Commission in the SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Time Limit. As per the new rule, the time duration for Tier 1 Exam has been reduced to 60 minutes from 75 minutes.

For the first time, SSC CGL Exam conducted CGL through online mode in 2016. The exam duration was set 75 minutes. So, the cut off marks of that year had increased from 102 to 137. As a result, the commission has decided to reduce the time limit by 15 minutes to decrease the cut-off for this year. As per new notice, the commission also introduced some new posts. Overall there are no major changes in the exam syllabus and the tiers.

According to the new SSC CGL Tier-I Exam Pattern, aspirants are required to solve their question paper within 60 minutes. The questions will contain from the subject such as General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language.

Highlights of changes in SSC CGL 2017 Exam

Every Year, Staff Selection Commission issued notification for Combined Graduate Level Exam. This year also, SSC CGL Notification has been published with so many changes. If you are preparing for SSC CGL Exam then you must know about the latest changes and new rules of this exam. Have a look!!

#1: Time Limit has been reduced for Tier-I Exam:

Candidates who are going to appear in SSC CGL Exam 2017 are informed that the authority of Staff Selection Commission has been reduced by 15 minutes for Tier-I Exam. Previously, the exam duration of Tier-1 is 75 minutes, which will now be 60 minutes only. So, applicants have to complete their exam in 1 hour. The exam duration for tier 1 as 75 minutes this led to an increase in cut-off marks of last years. So, to decrease the cut-off for this year, the commission has decided to reduce the time limit.

#2: Added New Post:

This year the commission has introduced new post that is Assistant Accounts Officer. This post is mainly for the Department of Indian Audits & Accounts under CAG. The commission has also announce that the Grade Pay of this post is Rs. 4200/-. You can check new posts

  • Assistant Accounts Officer (Gazetted) in Indian Audit and Accounts Department under CAG.
  • Assistant in Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SIFO)
  • Assistant in Other Departments / Organizations

#3: Complier Post has not been declared:

As per the latest news regarding SSC CGL Exam, the post of Complier (for the Post of Assistant in Central Vigilance Commission) has not been mentioned in the notification. It is also expected that this post will be added soon in SSC CGL Notification 2017 by the Staff Selection Commission.

#4: Enhanced Grade Pay:

The grade pay of some posts such as Sub-Inspector, Inspector etc has been increased as per the latest notice which is issued by the commission. You can check here latest grade page according to posts. Have a look!!

#5: Increased Age Limit:

As per the new notification, the upper age limit of applicants has been extended by 3 years for all the Group B Posts. Now, to apply for SSC CGL Examination, the age of candidates should be between 18 to 30 years.

#6:Added New Exam Centers:

Giving relief to candidates to appear for CGL Exam in their own town / City, SSC has add Seven New Cities in its Center List. Here is the List of Cities, which are added as Examination Centers for SSC CGL 2017.

  • Ahmadnagar (Maharashtra)
  • Bharatpur (Rajasthan)
  • Behrampore (Odisha)
  • Nizamabad (Telangana)
  • Vijaywada (Andhra Pradesh)
