JEE Main 2017 Counselling Eligibility Criteria

To get seats in IITs, Candidate need to secure marks in minimum 75% marks in 12th exam and then must cracked JEE Main 2017 and the top 2,20,000 qualifiers of JEE Main will be eligible for JEE Advanced 2017. Those candidates who will qualify the JEE Advanced, they will get admission in ITIs/NITs/CFTIs. Candidates who have paid seat acceptance fee but not accepted the seat (by not reporting at any reporting centre during joint seat allocation in 2016) are also eligible for admission.

Document Required At Reporting Centre

The list of documents that candidates have to be verified at reporting centre is as follows:

  • Original along with photocopy of class 12 mark sheet.
  • Two Passport Sized photos.
  • Pay slip of Seat Acceptance Fee.
  • One attested photocopy along with the original Admit card.
  • Original birth certificate along with one attested copy of it or any other equivalent certificate.
    Original name proof certificate along with an attested copy of it.
  • Original Category certificate with one attested photocopy. For BCL-NCL, category certificate must be issued after 1st June 2015.
  • PwD candidates will have to produce original and attested photocopy of Disability Certificate.
  • Duly certified Medical Certificate (Original) in the format which is given on the official format.
  • Duly certified Declaration form (Original) in the format which is given on the official format.
  • Foreign candidates will have to provide attested photocopy and original nationality certificate/ passport/ document.

JEE Main 2017 Home State Quota

For Union Territories and the states of North East (namely Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura), there will be a separate round and after the seat acceptance under JoSAA. Seat allotment will be conducted through a Centralized Seat Allotment Board for North Eastern States and Union Territories (CSAB NEUT).

JEE Main Counselling JoSAA Procedure:

Online Registration:

For attending in the JEE Main Counseling, the very first step is to register online. Candidates need to fill the registration form and fill the choices of Institutes and branches. After that, Candidates have to enter their JEE Main roll number and password. After logged in, candidates have to recheck the profile information and then hit to “Password Change”. It is mandatory for the candidates to change the password.

Selection of Choice:

After creating the profile, candidates have to choose the Institutes and branches according to their preferences in decreasing order. Candidates are advised to fill in as many choices as possible. After that “Lock” your choices, If you are fails to do then the last saved choices will be locked automatically.

Allotment of Seat:

On the basis of the JEE Main Rank List, seats will be allotted to the candidates. There will be seven rounds of Seat allocation process for academic programs 2017-2018 offered by the Participating Institutes of JEE Main 2017. Candidates required filling option for ‘freeze’, ‘slide’ or ‘float’ the choice of academic program.

Fees Payment:

There is no payment of fees of registration or filling up of choices but To accept allotted seats, candidates must pay seat acceptance fee which is categorized as follows:

  • SC, ST, PwD candidates: Rs.20,000 (Expected)
  • Others: Rs.45,000 (Expected)

Candidates must submit the fee through e-challan at any branch of State Bank of India (SBI) or pay online using SBI Internet banking

Reporting at the final Allotted Institute:

The candidates are advised report to the final allotted Institute and complete their admission process, after the seventh round is done.
